Dr Anne Katrin Schlag - Life Coach UK Associate
London based Personal & Corporate Life Coach
Dr. Anne Katrin Schlag
Born in Germany, I moved to London at the age of 17 where I completed my schooling before embarking on studying psychology. My degrees and PhD were accomplished at the London School of Economics, whereby I managed to fit in various international fellowships at La Sapienza (Italy), Cambridge (UK) and Harvard (US). I have taught postgraduates, published in scientific journals and presented my work at conferences around the world. Apart from my academic experiences, I am skilled at managing international projects, liaising with clients and working together with people from all walks of life.
I also have a broad range of work experience, which allowed me to apply psychology to many other contexts. For example, whilst working at the Royal Institution of Science I advised the UK government on how to address public concerns related to the controversy about genetically modified organisms. This work particularly appealed to me because it touches on several of my passions: the environment, nature, animals, food, ethics, and the appreciation and understanding of various (often contrasting) world views. Although a trained scientist I learned to avoid a solely rational approach because I found that this leaves too many questions unanswered. The most important things in life cannot be easily measured or quantified. Rather, in the words of de Saint-Exupery: "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
Personally, I have benefitted greatly from Charles’ Unitive approach, which has helped me to accept (and appreciate!) myself fully. Likewise, as course supervisor, I work with him to make sure our uniquely comprehensive tutorial programme maintains its high standard in coaching our clients to attain the personal development levels they will need in order to live a fulfilling, free and happy life. My goal as a life coaching professional is to help unlock and uncover this potential – to strip away the carefully constructed walls which so often imprison us and return to the essential truths of our authentic individual being in the world as it is today.
